Why a CPO Certification?
The PHTA Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification is recognized by local and state authorities as the most widely-accepted, verifiable pool and spa training credential. Each year, more than 30,000 professionals learn how to more efficiently operate safer aquatic facilities with this
program.
The CPO Certification is valid for five years. This is an approved National Environmental Health Association course which will earn you 16 CEUs.
The CPO Certification course will help you understand how to:
• Operate a pool more easily and efficiently — saving time and money.
• Reduce chemical, electrical, biological, and physical hazards — protecting users and employees.
• Comply to key safety regulations — reducing liability and risk of closure.
*Majority of states accept virtual training for CPO. However, some local health departments and states may have additional requirements. Review the most recent CPO Virtual Delivery Approval Status by states and counties here.
